1. Scammer sends a fake SMS or makes a call claiming PAN is blocked or needs urgent upgrading.

  2. Victim is asked to share Aadhaar, PAN, bank details, or OTP to proceed with PAN 2.0 update.

  3. Fraudster sends a phishing link disguised as an official portal.

  4. Once details are shared or link is clicked, either money is siphoned off or data submitted is misused by fraudsters.
