  • Be Cautious with SMS/Calls: PFRDA sends SMS with the sender ID “PFRDAI”. Be wary of unsolicited messages or calls with suspicious content or promises.

  • Avoid Payment to unauthorised entities: Never transfer money to anyone claiming to help with NPS/APY-related services unless you have verified their legitimacy.

  • Keep personal information secure: Do not share your PRAN number, passwords, or other sensitive financial details with any third party.

  • Take immediate action: In case of any doubt of attack, immediately disconnect your device from internet to prevent loss of data change your internet and banking password, also freeze your bank accounts and credit cards.

  • Report fraud immediately: If you notice any fraudulent activity, report it to the authorities immediately. You can file a cyber-crime complaint via the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (https://cybercrime.gov.in) or call the helpline 1930

  • Lodge a complaint if required: In case the victim does not have access to any of the cybercrime cells, he or she can lodge the FIR at the local police station under Section 154 of Code of Criminal Procedure.
