Internet addiction, refers to a behavioral disorder characterized by excessive and compulsive use of the Internet, often leading to negative consequences in various aspects of an individual's life. It is observed that a person who is addicted to internet, becomes dependent on using the Internet and needs to spend more and more time online to achieve the same ‘high’. This addictive behavior can manifest in various forms, such as excessive use of social media, online gaming, gambling, shopping, streaming, and other online activities.
